Puerto Morelos is a city in the Quintana Roo region of the Yucatan Peninsula, about 20 km south of Cancun. It is a fishing village, a tourist destination and an ideal place for diving. Puerto Morelos offers a wide variety of marine life on one of the most beautiful reefs in the world. It is possible to observe turtles, eagle rays and numerous schools of colourful fish. There are white sandy beaches with clear water and cenotes to visit (the closest ones to Puerto Morelos are a 30 minute drive away). It is also possible to walk in a protected forest 10 minutes from Puerto Morelos. An ideal stop for a 2 hour walk in the shade, accompanied by spider monkeys, iguanas and birds.
